This image depicts a historic event that occurred in 1638 when colonists ran out of food and paid the Pocumtuck and other regional tribes to deliver fifty bushels of corn to them in Hartford Ct. The original painting is owned and is on display at the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Museum in Deerfield, Massachussets.
